In preparation for the Asian Cup, which begins later this month, Bahrain and Australia will battle in a friendly on Saturday at Baniyas Stadium in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Bahrainis lost their final encounter of 2023, 2-0, versus the UAE, while the Socceroos ended the year with three successive triumphs, defeating Palestine in November 1-0.

The clash at Baniyas Stadium kicks off at 1:00am on Sunday, 7 January (AEDT) and will be the sixth meeting between the two nations, while serving as a chance to fine tune things ahead of the tournament proper commencing a week later.

Graham Arnold named a strong 26-player squad for the tournament with the Aussies determined to win the men’s competition for a second time.
