Tamim Departed After Notching The Pick Of 8000 Runs

Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das scored their fourth ODI centuries in the first ODI against Zimbabwe in Harare today.

Tamim scored his 54th career fifty off 80 deliveries off Milton Schumber. Tamim’s knock is studded with nine fours. Litton is unbeaten on 44 off 64 balls as Bangladesh reach 116 for no wicket in 25 overs. However, after an opening stand of 119 runs, Sikandar Raja’s partnership was broken.

Tamim became the first Bangladeshi to reach 8000 runs in ODI cricket. It took him 239 matches to reach the mark with a career average of 37.20. Tamim is well ahead of second placed Shakib Al Hasan who has 6755 runs in the Tigers’ list of highest run scorers.

Tamim departed to Sikandar Raja in the 26th over, trying to pull off a short delivery after he scored 62 off 88 balls.

Tigers started well with Tamim and Liton

Bangladesh openers Tamim Iqbal and Liton Das put on fifties as the Tigers saw off the challenge of the new ball with some seam and bounce on the surface early in Harare today.

Tigers 56 after 12 overs. Tamim was on 32 off 35 balls with five fours. Lytton was careful with 18 runs off 37 balls.
